Long Business Description

The love of antiques and vintage runs deep in our family. My mother, Dianna has been collecting antiques since the early 1970's, before I was even born. My mother and father started collecting antiques on cross-country trips from southern Arizona to Michigan, where my father's family lived. They would go to local farms asking if there was anything in the farmers' farmhouses or barns that they wanted to sell. They would then drive this purchases across the country, to Tucson, Arizona, in an old pick-up truck, piled high with treasures. What began as an economical way to obtain beautiful items for the newlywed home, developed into a life-long passion for antiques and vintage.

I grew up up with antiques. Everything in our house was vintage and antique. We furnished our house with finds from their trips to the mid-west, as well as weekly excursions to swap meets in the Tucson area. My mother, Dianna, taught herself to strip and refinish furniture and was able to create a beautiful home on a budget. During this time, Dianna was a window designer for local department stores and boutiques in the Southwest. She learned the art of display.

Dianna is an accomplished artist in the field of  folk art and creates beautiful original pieces in the genre of scherenschnitte, otherwise known as the Pennsylvania Dutch folk art of paper cutting. Her cuttings are watercolored and framed in handmade, grain painted frames. She also grain paints beautiful  Shaker-style boxes. Throughout the years, Dianna has been honored with awards for her artwork, designed for Baker's Estate cookies, and has been featured in newspaper and magazines, such as Country Living, and has been featured on Northwest Profiles, on KSPS in Spokane, Washington.

Fielding is a jewelry designer specializing in unique original pieces made of  semi-precious gemstones, various natural elements, precious metal, and pieces that incorporate vintage, antique and found objects. You can see more of Fielding's jewelry at her website: www.fieldingchelf.com.

Both Dianna and Fielding's artwork can be seen at art shows throughout the northwest, as well as in their shop in Spokane, Washington.
